A CALL FOR GRASSROOTS ACTION!

🦅 A CALL FOR GRASSROOTS ACTION! 🦅

Please continue to sign and share our petition! https://chng.it/JVf4JKk6gm

We need your HELP in establishing some points of contact with homeowners association board members or key contacts for the following adjacent neighborhoods to the proposed Toll Brothers “Deal Lake” development. We have some important information to share with those contacts.

If you have contact information to share in your neighborhood, please email us at NoDealWeddington@gmail.com

Adjacent neighborhoods are:

Weddington Hills

Lake Forest Preserve

Stratford on Providence

Lochaven Estates

Aero Plantation

We are losing our last working farm in Weddington.  The Propst/Deal farm, owned for five generations, is under contingent contract with Toll Brothers for a proposed development “Deal Lake”, a 93 home development on 15,000 square foot slab lots with plans to construct a private community wastewater treatment plant to service the wastewater needs of their residents.

The remaining open land in Weddington and Union County is at risk for developers lining up to build private wastewater treatment neighborhoods!

Weddington, we must UNITE together to STOP this!

If approved, Weddington could be the first of many private wastewater treatment plant neighborhoods in Union County, setting a precedent for others to immediately follow.

*We have heard through the “grapevine” that developers are talking amongst each other, waiting for one to get approved with plans to submit their applications behind it.

Developers wanting to maximize profits are seeking alternative ways to develop unsewered land.  The type of community wastewater treatment plant with subsurface drip dispersal has not been done for a large residential community in the entire piedmont region! It’s a system rarely used for residential in the entire state of North Carolina, mainly seen on the coast where there is poor sandy soil conditions.

Privatizing sewer for financial gain, allows developers to construct private wastewater treatment plant neighborhoods, giving them the ability to build more homes on smaller lots.

Conventional septic developments would require the lots to be larger and would decrease developers profit margins.

WEDDINGTON JOIN US IN FIGHTING AGAINST THIS! WE DON’T WANT TO BECOME WEDDINGTON WASTEWATER TREATMENT TOWN!
