Briar Chapel residents property values decreased being near their neigborhood community wastewater treatment plant.

Weddington residents should be very concerned about this. 

Is Toll Brothers calling it a "COMMUNITY wastewater treatment plant" for a reason?

Mel Graham purchased 218 acres of land next door to the Propst/Deal farm in on December 30, 2022.  This is the same land where a developer proposed a development "The Woods" with plans for a  private wastewater treatment plant back in 2008. It got rejected by Weddington Town council. 

McKim and Creed was the engineer firm  that designed the private wastewater treatment plant for "The Woods" back in 2008  and they are the same engineer firm designing the private wastewater treatment plant for Toll Brothers "Deal Lake". 

The following video is an example of a sewer leak from a private wastewater treatment plant that services the Briar Chapel community in Raleigh, North Carolina. 

Although Toll Brothers plans for a private community wastewater treatment plant will be different in design being that it will have subsurface drip dispersal, this video shows how a poorly managed wastewater treatment plant through an HOA can put public health at great risk.

Toll Brothers private wastewater treatment plant would be overseen by "Deal Lake" 's homeowners association where the plant would be managed by a third party sewage operator. 

Private wastewater treatment plants will at some point malfunction and leak into groundwater. Toll Brothers private wastewater treatment plant is approximately 300 ft to Aero Plantation's lake and very close in proximity to a few residents private wells used for drinking water. 

Private wastewater treatment plants will STINK affecting property values. 

In 2008, Weddington denied a developer's request for a private wastewater treatment plant development and the entire town came out against it. 

Weddington we can not sleep on this proposed wastewater treatment plant in 2024! We are going to have to rally against this in a huge way.
